1.Uber Will Pay You $1000 to Avoid Your Car for 5 Weeks
In an effort to draw attention to a “car-light lifestyle,” Uber is introducing “The One Less Car” trial. Up to 175 car owners across the U.S. and Canada will be selected. And yes, Uber will give each participant $1000 to use alternative transportation. 2. Parkinson’s Patient Receives Cure for Tremors
A retired firefighter is the very first Parkinson’s patient in Scotland to receive a miraculous cure for tremors. As part of an international clinical trial, Ian Keir underwent a non-invasive procedure at the University of Dundee’s School of Medicine. While the milestone treatment is not a cure for Parkinson’s disease, it does offer hope for those wanting to relieve life-altering symptoms.

3. Elon Musk Wins Again: NASA is Paying SpaceX Millions to Clean Up
SpaceX has been selected by NASA to destroy the International Space Station (ISS). The awarded contract is worth an estimated $843 million. In 2030, a SpaceX ‘deorbit vehicle’ will safely remove the ISS. Ken Bowersox of NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate, believes the move will make it possible “for future commercial destinations and allows for the continued use of space near Earth.” The ISS has been in orbit for 25 years, involving over 15 countries. 4. Nature’s Daily Deposit: Volcano Erupts $6,000 worth of Gold
Every day since 1972, the Mount Erebus volcano in Antartica has remained active; releasing tiny specks of gold. Mixed with gases, steam and rocks, each eruption (containing gold flakes) amounts to a daily estimated worth of $6,000 or $2.1 million per year. 5. Toyota is Launching Self-Driving EVs in China
In 2025, Toyota will launch autonomous, electric vehicles in China. The first EV model to be introduced is the Bozhi 3X SUV. An electric sedan powered by Huawei software is also scheduled to be released later that year. To develop the advanced autonomous system, Toyota will partner with Momenta—a Chinese startup that has created “brain” software for major automakers like Mercedes-Benz. Get more details here.
