For their upcoming lunar mission, NASA has enlisted the help of luxury Italian fashion house Prada and Axiom Space—architects behind the world’s first commercial space station. Both entities will collaborate on tech to design a brand new spacesuit. The outfit will be worn for the 2025 Moon mission: Artemis III. Experimenting with different materials, engineering and testing the suit to withstand harsh lunar or space environments will fall under AxEMU; Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit spacesuit. Artemis III will also be the first mission to land a woman on the moon. “We are honored to be a part of this historic mission with Axiom Space. Our decades of experimentation, cutting-edge technology and design know-how – which started back in the ‘90s with Luna Rossa… It is a true celebration of the power of human creativity and innovation to advance civilization,” explained Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada Group Marketing Director.

The Artemis III Mission featuring Prada spacesuits will officially mark NASA’s first crewed mission to the Moon since its Apollo 17 trip in 1972.
